Vol. 251 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Saggart (Dublin) School.

23.

asked the Minister for Education if he will take steps to improve the conditions at Saggart primary school, County Dublin and, in particular, overcrowding in classes.

My Department has asked the Commissioners of Public Works to report on the question of providing improved sewerage and a satisfactory supply of drinking water at Saggart national school.

I am having investigations made in relation to complaints of overcrowding with a view to ascertaining the extent of the extra accommodation likely to be required. It is possible that pending the provision of extra accommodation, the position could be eased by the rearrangement of the classes among the existing classrooms.
