Vol. 252 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answer. - Garda Widows' Pensions.

13.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will take steps to ensure that pensions paid to Garda widows are on a par with those at present paid to widows of civil servants.

The widows' and children's pension schemes recently introduced for the Garda Síochána provide benefits similar to those which apply to the civil service.

Would the Minister be able to make provision for the widows of Garda Síochána who got married following their retirement so that they could participate in this pension fund?

That is a different situation.
