Vol. 252 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dairy Product Stocks.

32.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will give details of existing stocks of dairy products.

Stocks of creamery butter on 15th February, 1971, the latest date for which particulars are available, were 2,450 tons. My Department do not compile statistics of stocks for other dairy products.

(Cavan): Can the Minister state how this compares with other years?

I have not a comparative figure.

The Minister has not got the data because it is not suitable. I can assure him that there is a great difference.

Does the Deputy mean that Bord Bainne are doing too good a job at selling?

They have a lot less to sell now than they had and they will have less in the future.

Can the Minister get the figure for us?

The Deputy can put down a question.

Can the Minister supply us with the information?

If I were Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries I would probably have the figures immediately.

If the Minister is on speaking terms with the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries perhaps he would get the figure?

I am calling Question No. 33.
