Vol. 252 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inland Fishing Rights.

33.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if it is Government policy to allow the present private ownership of fishing rights in Irish inland waters to continue, particularly in respect of foreigners.

I would refer the Deputy to the replies in the House on 5th of February, 1970 and on 23rd of October and 4th of November, 1969 on the subject of ownership of fisheries.

The Commission on Inland Fisheries is at present deliberating on all aspects of inland fisheries including ownership. It will be submitting its report and recommendations in due course.
