Vol. 252 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Estate.

25.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission intend to divide the Stanley estate at Lislevane, County Cork; and what the present position is.

The preparation of allotment proposals for this 440-acre holding, together with two neighbouring holdings acquired recently, has been deferred pending completion of proceedings for acquisition of a further estate in the locality containing 189 acres. When this latter holding has been acquired an aggregate area of 735 acres will be available for the preparation of a comprehensive scheme of land settlement in the area.

How soon after that will the land be allocated?

I do not suppose I could say that. In regard to the second holding acquisition proceedings were instituted in March, 1968. Negotiations were approved in September, 1970. Agreement on price was reached on 12th March last, a few days ago.
