Vol. 252 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Bacon Factory.

45.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what the present position is regarding the establishment of a bacon factory in the Dunmanway-Drimoleague area of County Cork; and if his Department has had any recent consultations with the people concerned.

I have not received any application for the requisite licence for such a factory and I am not aware of any recent consultations by persons concerned in that connection with officers of my Department.

When the Parliamentary Secretary does receive an application we hope he will treat it sympathetically.

(Interruptions.)

I assure the Deputy when the application comes in it will get every consideration.

The Parliamentary Secretary will not stand idly by.
