Vol. 252 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Greencastle (Donegal) Harbour Facilities.

49.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the up-to-date position concerning the proposed harbour facilities for Greencastle, County Donegal.

The position in regard to Greencastle was investigated by the special survey team set up to carry out an appraisal of the land facilities required to meet the present and prospective needs of the fishing industry in County Donegal. The team's report is under examination at present and I cannot at this stage say what the outcome may be.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware of the statements made by the previous Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries in regard to Greencastle? Has he no record of these?

I have given the Deputy the up-to-date position with regard to Greencastle and that is what he wanted.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary not in a position to confirm, deny or substantiate what the former Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries said?

The Deputy's question refers to Greencastle and not——

I am disappointed at the reply because I was taking Deputy Blaney at his word that progress was at an advanced stage.
