Vol. 252 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Service Pensions.

19.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the justifiable grievances of many retired civil servants with regard to their pension rates; and, if so, if he proposes to improve their pensions.

The granting of pension increases to retired civil servants must be considered in the context of public service pensions generally. As I have already indicated in replies to previous Parliamentary Questions this matter is one for consideration in connection with the Budget and it is not possible therefore to give any decision at this stage.
