The hospital authority sought my sanction to the creation of 25 additional posts of psychiatric nurse. I have sanctioned the creation of 17 posts required in connection with the transfer of patients to the new 100-bed unit and improvements in the night nursing arrangements.
The question of the need for the remaining eight posts is still under consideration. My Department is in communication with the hospital authority in the matter.
