Vol. 253 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Medical Service.

18.

asked the Minister for Health why there is no resident doctor in the Cappawhite area, County Tipperary; and if he is aware of the consequential grave hardship on the people in that vast area.

The Tipperary (SR) County Council, which up to the beginning of this month was the body responsible for the dispensary services in the Cappawhite district, was unsuccessful in its recent effort to appoint, on the recommendation of the Local Appointments Commissioners, a residential doctor for the Cappawhite dispensary district.

A temporary service is being provided for eligible persons by a doctor living in an adjoining district.
