In accordance with Defence Force Regulations applicants for enlistment in An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil must be not less than 17 years of age. As the person referred to by the Deputy did not, on making application for enlistment, appear to have reached the age of 17 years, the attesting officer deferred his enlistment pending the production by him of evidence of his age.
