Vol. 253 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Burren Plant Life.

33.

asked the Minister for Lands if his attention has been drawn to reports that fertilisers are killing off wild plant life in the Burren district of County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information at present available to me suggests that the fertilising of certain traditional pasture areas on parts of the Burren need not give cause for concern regarding the rare plant species of the district generally.

The Minister must have been on holiday there recently.

No, unfortunately, I was not.
