Vol. 253 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estates.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider acquiring the John Donnellan estate, Park East, Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, County Galway with a view to dividing it between the local smallholders.

Certain dealings affecting this 28 acre holding are pending between the Land Commission and the owner—but, for the present at any rate, these must be treated as confidential.

30.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission intend to divide the Devaney and Hurd estates, Fortbrown, Tuam, County Galway.

As yet I am unable to say when allotment of these two properties will be effected but I understand that the aim is to include both in a composite restructuring scheme in the district.

31.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider allotting the house on the Mitchell estate, Trihill, Ballinamore Bridge, Ballinasloe, County Galway, to a person (details supplied).

Possession of this property passed to the Land Commission on 1st April, last.

I shall arrange to have the Deputy's representations brought to their attention.

32.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission intend to divide the Johnston estate, Cregg Castle, Carrandulla, County Galway.

Of a total of 78 acres acquired on this estate, an area of 74 acres was recently divided amongst 13 local smallholders, and some restructuring was effected.

It is hoped to allot the balance—4 acres—shortly.
