Vol. 254 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Transport Scheme.

39.

asked the Minister for Education if he is prepared to extend the school transport scheme to facilitate the children who live at Cloonmore, Tuam, and who attend schools in Tuam, County Galway.

The homes of the children concerned are a mile nearer Belclare national school than to the national schools in Tuam. In these circumstances an extension of the transport service to convey them to the Tuam schools would not be appropriate. I would be prepared, however, to sanction an extension of the service to Belclare national school to include them.
