Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - Coinbox Telephones.

88.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of his Department's inability to maintain public telephone booths in working order in some areas, he will make available to suitable householders coinbox telephones without extra rental charges.

The general question of public telephone facilities in areas where kiosks are subjected to excessive vandalism at present is being examined. There is no easy solution to this problem and while there would be obvious difficulties in adopting the Deputy's suggestion, it is one of a number of possibilities being considered.
