I have approved in principle of the establishment of this unit.
As it is proposed that the appointee to the second post of geriatrician to the Eastern Health Board will be in charge of this unit, I feel that it would be desirable that he should be involved from the beginning with the working of proposed arrangements. I understand that the Local Appointments Commission have recommended a candidate for appointment to this post.
