Vol. 254 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Speech Therapy.

4.

asked the Minister for Health whether, in view of the relatively large number of children in the Dublin north-west area requiring speech therapy. he will consider the provision of a speech therapist in the dispensaries in that area whose services would also be available to Cappagh Hospital.

The Eastern Health Board is responsible for the provision of speech therapy services for eligible children in the area mentioned by the Deputy. I am informed by the board that the present arrangement is to refer children requiring speech therapy to hospitals or clinics employing speech therapists and that no change in these arrangements is at present contemplated.
