Mr. J. Lenehan

asked the Minister for Education if he will state in respect of St. Colman's secondary school, Rossport, County Mayo, for each of the years ended 30th June, 1968, 1969 and 1970 (a) the number of pupils attending the school, (b) the number presented for the intermediate certificate, (c) the number who passed, (d) the number presented for the leaving certificate, (e) the number who received honours and (f) the number who passed.

Normal practice and procedure preclude me from giving information of the type sought by the Deputy in relation to an individual school.

Mr. J. Lenehan

asked the Minister for Education if the site chosen for a new secondary school at Rossport, County Mayo, is the most central site for such a school; and, if not, why it was chosen.

The site selected by the local managerial authorities for the new building for the secondary school at Rossport was the most suitable of several sites which were inspected.

31.

Mr. J. Lenehan

asked the Minister for Education the position regarding proposals for the provision of a new vocational school at Belmullet, County Mayo.

The proposal for the provision of a new vocational school at Belmullet is under examination in the context of the facilities to be provided for post-primary education generally in the area.
