Vol. 255 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational School Pupils.

49.

andMr. Fox asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in respect of the latest year for which figures are available, the average number of pupils per teacher in vocational schools; and what number of pupils per teacher is considered satisfactory in such schools.

The average number of second level whole-time pupils per whole-time teacher in vocational schools for the school year 1970-71 is estimated at 16. A pupil/teacher ratio of 18:1 would be considered satisfactory in these schools.
