Vol. 255 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Hospital X-ray Service.

9.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that there is a waiting period of three months for an X-ray in the urology department of St. Finbarr's Hospital, Cork; and if action will be taken to rectify the situation.

I understand that because of the increasing demand for special radiological investigations in relation to the work of the urological department in St. Finbarr's Hospital, considerable delays occur. I approved the creation of an additional office of consultant radiologist in July, 1969, to help the situation but unfortunately the candidate selected declined the appointment and a further competition will be necessary.
