Written Answers - Crime Levels.

Barry Andrews

Question:

216 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the increase in bank raids in recent months; and if he is exploring security improvements in tandem with the banks in this regard. [9273/03]

I am informed by the Garda auth orities that there has not been a significant increase in the number of bank raids in recent months. However, a number of incidents are under investigation. I am further informed that security for banks is kept under constant review with regular meetings taking place between the Garda authorities and security personnel of the banks.
