Vol. 256 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - Dublin Roads.

231.

asked the Minister for Local Government what action it is proposed to take on the proposal submitted to him by the Dún Laoghaire Corporation to provide a new road from Glenageary Road Lower to Mulgrave Street, Glenageary.

This proposal is under examination in my Department. I expect to be in a position to communicate with Dún Laoghaire Corporation on the matter very shortly.

232.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made in building the north road through Finglas west; and whether in the event of delay in starting the new road, steps will be taken to clean up the area.

These matters are the responsibility of Dublin Corporation. I have been informed that a contract has been placed for the road improvement scheme from Tolka Bridge to Mellows Road and that work is due to commence soon.

Could steps not be taken to clear the rubble off the road?

Yes, fair enough.
