Vol. 256 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Tax Reliefs.

8.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has informed the IDA that any new manufacturers setting up undertakings between now and the proposed date of accession to the EEC may be assured that their profits derived from the export of Irish manufactured goods will get total relief from Irish taxes for 15 consecutive years and partial relief for a further five years up to 1990.

Yes, such firms will be entitled to these reliefs for the remainder of their statutory life, that is, up to April, 1990, and the IDA has, of course, been informed accordingly.
