Vol. 256 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - UN Budget.

9.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs whether the contribution for China to the United Nations budget will be increased from its former 4 per cent to a higher figure commensurate with the size and population of the Chinese state recently admitted to membership; and if so to what percentage.

The assessment of 4 per cent was based on available data related to the whole of China. The scale of assessments for all member states will be reviewed in 1973 by the committee on contributions, which will make recommendations in the matter to the General Assembly.
