asked the Minister for Defence the average length of the working week for Army men on Border duties.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Working Week.
50.
There is no prescribed length of working week for Army personnel at Border posts. The hours of duty vary from week to week, from post to post, and from one member of a unit to another, depending on circumstances. Any quantification of the length of the working week would be misleading as the hours of duty would necessarily include periods spent on "stand-to" when no actual work would be done.
