It would not be possible to introduce the choice of doctor scheme in the Mid-Western Health Board area on 1st April next. The Deputy is not correct in saying that all the necessary arrangements for doing so have been made by the board. The intention is to introduce the scheme in the Eastern Health Board area on 1st April and in the remainder of the country later in the year.
