Vol. 257 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Longford Army Pension Allowance.

125.

asked the Minister for Defence why a person (name supplied) in County Longford was refused an allowance under the Army Pensions Act, 1971.

The widow referred to in the question is not eligible for an allowance under the Army Pensions Act, 1971 as her husband was not in receipt of a military service pension. Her application for an allowance under the Army Pensions Acts 1923 to 1968 was refused in 1969 because it had not been established that her husband's death was due to the wound for which he was in receipt of a pension.
