Vol. 257 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Car Parking Facilities.

115.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is a condition for the granting of planning permission for the erection of office blocks in Dublin city that car parking facilities be provided.

The Dublin Corporation draft development plan provides standards of car-parking related to land uses, including office development and in so far as I am aware these standards are being applied by the planning authority when granting planning permission for the erection of office blocks in Dublin city.

116.

asked the Minister for Local Government why it was not a condition in granting planning permission for the erection of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs sorting office at Sheriff Street, Dublin that car parking facilities be provided.

Planning permission was not required for the erection of this office. I have no information whether car-parking facilities were provided for it.

They were not provided, I hope they will be provided now.

It was built before the 1963 Planning and Development Act.
