Vol. 257 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Government Christmas Greetings.

54.

asked the Minister for Labour the cost of Christmas cards and greetings sent by him in 1970; if postage was provided free by his Department and, if so, the cost; and the estimated cost of cards on order this year and if the cards will be sent free of charge.

55.

andMr. L'Estrange asked the Minister for Labour the projected cost to the Exchequer during the financial year 1971-72 of the sending of Christmas cards by him.

56.

andMr. L'Estrange asked the Minister for Labour the total number of hours during which civil servants were engaged in sending Christmas cards from him in 1970 and the projected corresponding number for 1971.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 54, 55 and 56 together.

I did not send any Christmas cards or greetings in 1970 and I am not sending any official cards this year. The estimated cost of official postage on the personal cards I will be sending this year is £5.

One honest Minister.

One decent Minister.

No doubt the Minister will be delighted to hear the Deputy's opinion of him.
