Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Breathalyser Tests.

23.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of breathalyser tests conducted by the Garda in the following cities: (a) Limerick, (b) Dublin, (c) Cork, (d) Galway and (e) Waterford, during the past 12 months.

The carrying out of breathanalyser tests, which was suspended in most of the country during the greater part of 1970, was resumed on 21st December, 1970. Between that date and 30th November, 1971, the numbers of breathanalyser tests carried out in the county boroughs of Limerick, Cork, Galway and Waterford were 157, 89, 45 and 71, respectively. In the Dublin Metropolitan Area 687 tests were carried out in the same period.
