Vol. 257 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Tourist Expenditure.

5.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the amount spent in County Meath last year and this year by Bord Fáilte and how it was or is to be used.

I am informed by Bord Fáilte that a sum of £4,393 was spent in County Meath in the year ended 31st March, 1971. The money was spent on accommodation development, national monuments, tidy towns, field sports and a contribution towards a Boyne riverside park study.

In the current year to date, I am glad to say the board have spent £9,660 in County Meath mainly on accommodation development and signposting. The board expect to pay a further £16,000 for accommodation development in County Meath before the end of the year.
