Vol. 258 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inland Waterways.

28.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the EEC Council adopted proposals on 3rd December, 1971, in regard to the temporary voluntary and compensated immobilisation of excess capacity in inland waterways; and if these will be of any relevance to Ireland.

The question of the immobilisation of vessels engaged in the Rhine navigation was discussed at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the European Communities on 3rd December, 1971. No firm decision was taken in the matter. This problem has no relevance for Ireland.
