Vol. 258 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Milk Supplies.

73.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware of reports of a possible milk shortage in the Dublin city area; and if he will state what measures are being taken to prevent this situation.

There is no ground for any such report. Following the recent increase in creamery-milk prices I am considering a request from the Dublin District Milk Board for adjustment of the producer price of milk for liquid consumption in the district.

Will there be no further increase in the retail price of milk?

I am considering an application from the Dublin District Board for an adjustment in the price of milk.

Then there will be a further increase?

I am considering it at present. I am afraid the Deputy believes that the milk producers ought not to get an increase.

That is typical of the Minister.

What is typical?

This twisting of information.

Anybody who does not agree with you is twisting. Twisting my foot!

That is the only part of the Minister that is not twisted.

Would the Minister answer Question No. 74?

The Deputy's colleague has just demonstrated that the Labour Party do not want to give an increase in the price of milk to liquid milk producers.

No such thing and the record will show it.

Do you want an increase in the price of milk to liquid milk producers or do you not?

Twisting.

Anyone who tries to answer questions is twisted.

You can read the record of these exchanges and you will see.
