36.
The following is the estimated number of school leavers who will be available to enter the labour force in mid-1972.
From first level, 2,600. From second level, Secondary, Junior Cycle, 7,100; Senior Cycle, 13,200. Vocational, Junior Cycle, 14,300; Senior Cycle, 2,700. Other second level, 2,700. From third level, Universities, 4,800; Teacher training, 900; other third level, 1,100.
The estimated apply to leavers from full-time education. They take no account of leavers who continue in part-time education, for example, apprentices.
Has the Minister any idea of how many jobs will be available for these school leavers?
I could not answer that.
It is a separate question.
