asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any proposals from Kerry County Council regarding the new library at Killarney; and, if so, if he will state the present position in the matter.

The only proposal involving the provision of a public library at Killarney was an application by Kerry County Council in September last for approval to raise a loan for the acquisition of a site. The county council were informed on 27th October last that there would be no objection to the inclusion of the cost of the site in a composite loan for the construction of the library.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any proposals from Kerry County Council regarding the loan for Cahirciveen library; and, if so, if he will state the present position in the matter.

Approval to the raising of a loan of £3,500 for the reconstruction of Cahirciveen library was conveyed to Kerry County Council on 7th March last.
