26.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of (a) males and (b) females made redundant last year in Dublin, Cork, Limerick/ Shannon, Waterford and Galway.

Statistics relating to redundancies notified under the Redundancy Payments Acts are compiled by reference to employment exchange areas which do not correspond to county boundaries.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate, with the Official Report a tabular statement showing the numbers of notifications of redundancies received in the employment exchanges in the areas referred to by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:

Qualified redundancies notified to the Department of Labouri in 1971 in Dublin, Cork, Limerick Shannon, Waterford and Galway.
