Vol. 260 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Impersonation Cases.

66.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases, if any, of impersonation or attempted impersonation brought to the notice of the Garda in connection with the recent referendum.

Complaints of this kind are not reported by the local gardaí to Garda headquarters until they have investigated them. In particular cases, this investigation could take several weeks especially if statements have to be taken from a number of people.

If the Deputy repeats the question in a month's time I expect to be able to give the general picture.
