Vol. 260 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Harbour Accident.

86.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will give a full report on the accident which occured in Cork Harbour involving members of the Slua Muirí and a naval whaler craft.

I presume the Deputy is referring to an incident which occured on 22nd April, 1972, when a whaler in which ratings of An Slua Muirí were receiving instruction was struck by squalls and capsized in Cork Harbour. The personnel in the whaler were wearing lifejackets and, I am glad to say, they were all rescued very soon after the vessel capsized.
