Vol. 261 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Central Meat Control Station.

61.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will indicate the work carried out by the meat control section of the Central Veterinary Laboratory during 1971-72; and if any changes therein are envisaged this year.

The main work of the central meat control station at my Department's veterinary research laboratory is the check testing for control purposes of processed meat and meat products. These tests include bacteriological, chemical, organoleptic and physical examinations.

Proposals for an extension of this work in the context of developing technical requirements are under consideration.
