Vol. 261 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Local Authority Houses.

116.

asked the Minister for Local Government the categories of persons who qualify for the purchase of partially vested local authority houses under the 1967 regulations.

No such qualification is defined in the Housing Authorities (Loan Charges Contributions and Management) Regulations, 1967. Section 98 of the Housing Act, 1966, however, enables a housing authority to refuse consent to the sale of a vested cottage if they are satisfied that it is not being purchased for a person who is in need of housing.
