Vol. 261 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Food Hygiene Prosecutions.

5.

asked the Minister for Health the number of prosecutions arising out of breaches of the Food Hygiene Regulations, 1950-1971, for offences in respect of premises in the Dublin area where items of food were for sale.

The number of prosecutions in question for the calendar year 1971, as ascertained from the Eastern Health Board, was 62 of which 59 were in respect of food businesses selling directly to the public.

Can the Minister state whether this is an increase? Has he got any figures there?

No, I am afraid not. I only have the figure for 1971.
