Vol. 262 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin River Pollution.

51.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the Santry River at the Moatfield/Donahies/Grangemore/ Holywell areas of Raheny, Dublin is badly polluted; whether he has any proposals for alleviating this nuisance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that the Santry River does not flow through the areas mentioned by the Deputy. It is the Kilbarrack stream which flows through those areas.

There are no proposals before me in relation to the improvement of conditions in this stream. The matter is one for the local authorities concerned, who, I understand, are examining the position.
