I have no information regarding the number of such lectures given in any year. A comprehensive circular on fire precautions was issued to all schools in September, 1971, for the guidance of principal teachers in setting up a simple and efficient fire routine procedure. Principals were advised to consult the chief fire officer of the local fire authority on any matters regarding fire drills or problems of fire safety in schools.
