Vol. 263 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 2 and Nos. 23 to 27 inclusive. Questions will be taken from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. By agreement, all Stages of No. 23 will be concluded not later than 10.30 p.m. today and the concluding speaker on Second Stage will be allowed about a half-hour to conclude.

On the Order of Business, the Taoiseach will no doubt be aware that a resolution has been tabled in the names of the leader of the Opposition and myself asking for the establishment of a select committee of this House to be joined with a select committee of the Seanad for the purpose of considering European Community affairs. In the ordinary way, I understand, this would be treated as a Private Members' motion. Would the Taoiseach consider, between now and the taking of the Bill itself, providing some time to have the principle of the resolution considered and decided on either together with, or at a time as near as possible to the taking of the Bill?

I shall be glad to do that.
