Vol. 264 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estates.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands the present position regarding the Harney estate, Aughrim, and the Flanagan and Glynn estates, Kilconnell, County Galway.

I understand that the preliminary work on the preparation of resale proposals for the Harney estate is about to commence.

Possession of the Flanagan estate passed to the Land Commission in the spring of this year. Proceedings for the Glynn estate are in the final stages and arrangements are being made to take possession. The Land Commission have also acquired three other properties in the same locality and composite resale proposals are envisaged for the five holdings aggregating 388 acres. It is not possible to say at this stage when the lands will be divided.
