Vol. 264 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Payments.

22.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange that medium sized farms purchased by the Land Commission be paid for in cash rather than bonds.

The Land Commission are empowered under the provisions of section 27 of the Land Act, 1950, as extended by section 44 of the Land Act, 1965, to pay cash for land purchased by them.

However, land bonds remain the principal medium of payment available to the Land Commission and an early departure from this is not envisaged.
