Vol. 264 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Land Purchases.

25.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange that notices be put in the local Press concerning decisions to purchase land for forestry so that local farmers may be made aware of such transactions.

The answer is in the negative. Close liaison is maintained with the Land Commission to ensure that no land required for Land Commission purposes is acquired for forestry and it is not the policy to acquire land for forestry which investigation reveals may be more suitably devoted to agriculture.
