Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Worker Participation.

4.

asked the Minister for Labour the plans he has for the introduction of workers' democracy in this country.

5.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will state the Government's policy on industrial democracy.

With your permission, a Cheann Chomhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 4 and 5 together.

I am at present considering arrangements for implementing the promise given before the general election to provide for the election of worker representatives to State boards.

Some time ago the Employer/ Labour Conference announced that it had set up a sub-committee to examine the question of worker participation.

Trade union and employer organisations are being consulted by my Department on the proposals relating to worker participation emanating from the EEC.
