Vol. 265 No. 5

Written Answers. - Insurance Record Inquiry.

182.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why it is regarded as necessary to have enquiries made regarding the insurance record of contributor number 1741452 as it was confirmed that he had 156 stamps some years ago.

In completing the claim form for a widow's pension the widow omitted to state her husband's insurance number and did not give any particulars, as are requested, of periods of employment, unemployment or incapacity. For this reason it was necessary to request her to furnish the required information with a view to tracing the husband's insurance record. This has now been done and she has been awarded a widow's contributory pension at the maximum rate.
