Vol. 265 No. 5

Written Answers. - Breathalyser Test System.

185.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of samples under the breathalyser test system which were found to be positive during the past six months.

I assume that the information sought by the Deputy is related to the number of samples of blood and urine which the Medical Bureau of Road Safety received for analysis in accordance with the procedures prescribed in the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (Part V) Regulations, 1969. For the six months ended 30th April, 1973, a total of 2,013 samples were received by the bureau and of these 1,751 were found to be positive on subsequent analysis.
